10 Things To Do The Night Before Your Wedding

By  |  Comments

To all the brides to beCongratulations! The TLI Staff recently reviewed our older “Top 10” and have given it a well deserved overhaul. The results are a new and trending list of the most important tasks to complete the night before your wedding. We hope this ‘to-do’ list helps relieve the night before jitters.

10 Things To Do The Night Before Your Wedding

1. Follow-up with your vendors:

You want tomorrow to be perfect, so ensure each vendor knows all the “whens & wheres”. Many wedding planners cover this part for you, and if so, give them a call and check-in…no need for wedding day surprises that can be avoided.

2. Make sure your shoes fit:

With so much focus on the dress, and rightly so, the shoes are often picked out in haste and not given much thought. Try those dancing shoes back on to make sure your pedi-perfect toes aren’t cramping up at the end of the night.

3. Pack your clothes:

Whether it’s your suitcase for the honeymoon, or a simple change of clothes post-reception, double-check your bags and put them in the car.

4. Drink plenty of water:

Stress and moving around while wrapping up those loose ends can cause dehydration and fatigue, so make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Speaking of drinking – avoid booze before your wedding. There will be plenty of time to party after saying “I Do”…and do you really want a hangover on your wedding day? Stick with water.

5. Pack a Survival Kit:

To go along with your make-up, pull together a handful of Band-Aids, Advil, breath mints, safety pins, hair ties and Pepto. Some even pack duct tape…we’ve heard you can fix anything with it. None the less – a survival kit is important and a must have.

6. Get a Mani Pedi:

Time to start unwinding and relax. Treat yourself to a fresh coat of polish, and spend a little extra on a massage. You deserve it!  Note: A facial masque was suggested in previous lists, but we feel a good night’s sleep is the best recommendation for your skin. Don’t perform major beauty rituals the night before a big event.

7. Eat a healthy dinner:

For many of you the rehearsal, and the rehearsal dinner, is the night before the wedding. Whether at the rehearsal dinner or ordering room service, avoid anything greasy and heavy. Stick to lighter items for dinner to avoid food bloating the next day.

8. Turn your phone off:

There is a place and time for social media and texting with friends, but now is not it. There is no need to broadcast the wedding “pregame show.” Let your loved ones “ooh and aah” tomorrow as you walk down the aisle.

9. Watch something funny:

Find something lighthearted on TV and crack a smile. Laughter naturally relieves stress. Watch some old home movies or snag a couple of episodes of a classic sitcom.

10. Get a good night’s sleep:

It is important to set a bedtime and get some rest. No one wants puffy eyes in their wedding photos, or to walk down the aisle like a zombie.
